İBB Şehir Tiyatroları’nda en son Çatıdaki Çatlak oyununda sahneye çıkan Sait Ergenç, bu oyunuyla yasa gereği 1996 yılında emekli oldu. İBB Şehir Tiyatroları’na ilk girdiği günden itibaren sırasıyla Hürrem Sultan, IV. Murat, III.Selim, Pusuda, Hırçın Kız, Jul Sezar, Antionus ve Cleopatra, Hamlet, Fermanlı Deli Hazretleri, Çatıdaki Çatlak, Ya Devlet Başa Ya Kuzgun Leşe, Misafir gibi oyunlarda rol aldı. Şehir Tiyatroları’nda oyunculuğu yanı sıra Yeşilçam’ın birçok filminde seslendirme yapan Ergenç; Karşık Pizza, Üzgünüm Leyla, Ben İnsan Değil miyim? gibi önemli filmlerde ve TV dizilerinde rol aldı. Aynı zamanda söz yazarı ve besteci olan Sait Ergenç’in hayatının büyük bir kısmı tiyatro sahnesiyle birlikte Unkapanı’nda “Ergenç Yapım Plak”ta geçti. Hafızalardan silinmeyen pek çok besteye imza atan sanatçı Altın Mikrofon sahibiydi. Şarkılarından bazıları (Ben insan değilmiyim)-(Balmısın şekermisin)-Adammı Oldun)-(seni sevmek için ölmek mi lazım) İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Şehir Tiyatroları’nın emekli sanatçılarından Sait ERGENÇ (İstanbul-1931doğumlu)  (14 Şubat 2008) İstanbul'da hayatını kaybetti. Sait Ergenç(15 Şubat Cuma) saat 10.30’da Kadıköy Haldun Taner Sahnesi’nde   düzenlenen törenin ardından, Selamiçeşme Camii’nde kılınan cenaze namazından sonra Karacaahmet Mezarlığı’na defnedildi.
