1953 yılında Sivas Şarkışla Ortaköy’de doğdu. Ortaokul ikinci sınıfa kadar Ortaköy’de, ailesinin Sivas merkeze göçmesinden sonra öğrenimine burada devam ederek, Sivas
Kongre Lisesi Edebiyat Bölümü’nde okudu.
Sivas’taki yaşamında resmi ve özel sektörde Teknik Ressam olarak çalışırken; aynı zamanda uzun yıllar siyasî parti yöneticilikleri, sendikacılık, belediye meclis üyeliği gibi toplumsal
görevlerde bulundu.
Kendisi gibi ozan olan (Seçkin) babasının dostları olması dolayısıyla çocukluğu: Âşık Veysel, Âşık Ali İzzet Özkan, Sefil Selimi, Aziz Üstün ve dayısı Âşık Hasan (Mihmani) gibi ustaların sazlı,
sözlü muhabbetlerini dinleyerek geçti. Mahlâsını bu ustaların Feyzullah olan adını “Feyzi” diye çağırmalarından aldı.
Emekli olduktan sonra, meslekî çalışmalarına yurt içinde çeşitli illerde ve
yurt dışında (Rusya, Ukrayna, Türkmenistan) devam etti.
Halen Ankara’da yaşamını sürdüren Feyzullah Seçkin (Feyzi) evli, bir erkek çocuk babası ve iki erkek torun dedesidir.
Eserleri, Ozanlar Birliği’nin çıkardığı Antoloji I ve II. ciltleri ile birçok internet sitesinde yayınlanan Ozan’ın bir de kendi web sitesi bulunmaktadır:
