Atilla kaya müzik hayatına 1984 yılında ibrahim tatlıses' in sahip olduğu barda sahne alarak başladı o zamanlar ersen gibi bir çok sanatçının albümlerinde klavye çaldı 1984 te ilk albümü olan komşu kızı nı çıkarttı ancak bu albümü çok ilgi görmedi daha sonra esen plak etiketi ile FALCI isimli albümü 400 bin sattı.1989 ta  çıkarttığı Tavernada Virtüöz 89  1 milyonun üzerinde bir tirajla rekor kırdı .Adını Yollara Yazdım şarkısı bu albümde hit olup bir altın plak aldı .Ancak sanatçı albümlerdeki başarısını özel hayatında gösteremedi geçtiğimiz yıl alkol problemi nedeni ile siroz teşhisi kondu ve tedavi gördüğü bir özel hastahanede 14.02.2008  yaşamını yitiriren Atilla Kaya 44 yaşındaydı
