1950'de Ankara'da doğdu. Müziğe ilkokul çağlarında başladı. Gitarla 1962 yılında tanıştı. 1965'ten itibaren çeşitli grup ve orkestralarda çalarak profesyonel oldu. Ankara Gazi Eğitim Enstitüsü Müzik Bölümünde keman öğrencisi olarak okuyup mezun oldu. Daha sonra Berklee Jazz Academy'de okudu. Avrupa'da çeşitli orkestralarda elektrik bas çaldı. Dünyanın birçok ülkesinde konserler verdi. 1976'da Paris'te bir süre Moğollar'da gitar çaldı. 1977'de Ankara Belediyesi Kent Orkestrası'na aranjör/basçı olarak girdi. 1981'de ayrılarak İstanbul'a yerleşti. Çeşitli orkestralarda çaldıktan sonra 1982'de kendi orkestrasını kurdu. 1991'de sahneyi bırakana kadar böyle devam etti. Türkiye'deki sanatçıların tümüne yakınıyla çalıştı. 1982'den bu yana stüdyo müzisyenliği ve aranjörlüğü yapmaktadır. Bestecidir, sinema ve TV filmlerine müzik yapar. 1988'de TRT'de, 1992'de Japonya'da en iyi aranjör seçildi.    ESERLERİ  Notasyon ve Diziler Teori  Oğuz Abadan'ın hazırladığı üç kitaplık Müzik Teorisi dizisinin bu ilk kitabı müziğe yeni başlayanlar için olduğu kadar, pratik olarak bir enstrüman çalmayı öğrenmiş müzisyenlerin de bilgilerini geliştirmeye yarayacak temel bilgileri içeriyor.  Aralık ve Akor Bilgisi: Teori dizisinin 2. kitabı. Akor kuruluşları ve çok sesliliğe geçiş anlatılıyor.
