 Giritli Hasan Bey Ankaralı Afet hanımın oğluyum. Babam mübadelede gelmiş giritten, 40 günlükken İzmir'den İstanbul'a getirilmişim. Ana okul ve ilk okul birinci sınıf ışık lisesi sonra baba hasretine dayanamayıp tekrar İzmir ve Yusuf Rıza'dan ilk mezuniyet. İzmir Özel Türk Koleji'nden 1959-1960 yılında ikinci mezuniyet. Tekrar İstanbul'a dönüş ve İktisat fakültesinde Hariciyeci olma hayalleriyle geçen iki koca yıl 1963 babamın vefatıyla yarım kalan yüksek öğrenim. Profesyonel müzisyenliğe başlama tarihim 2-8-1963 yani müzikle geçen 40 yıl.
Hayat hikayemi yazmak bana o kadar zor gelir ki .
Kısaca özetliyorum.
1963 ile 1974 arası orkestra şefliği .
1974 den itibaren piyanist şarkıcı akımını yaratmak ve geniş halk kitlelerine duyurmak için ürettiğim fikirler ve projelerle geçen uykusuz geceler geceler.
1977 deki ilk albümüm ilk şok ama kısa süre sonra gelen şöhretin sarhoşluğu hoş şeyler hoş olmayan şeyler.
25 yılda 28 albüm, filmler,konserler, TV dizileri, gece programları vs. vs.
