Bir dönem Türk Sanat Müziği ne damgasını vurmuştu Faruk Tınaz... 80'li yılların aranan solistlerden biriydi... Zamanla değişen müzik anlayışı ve ilgisizlik sanatına bir dönem ara vermesine neden oldu. Faruk Tınaz sanat yaşamını bıraktığından beri, hobi olarak sürdürdüğü atçılıkla ilgileniyor.Bir yandan son dönemde yaşamına tatlı bir heyecan getiren yarış atlarına ilgisini sürdürürken, bir yandan da yeniden müziğe dönüş heyecanını yaşıyor.  .  1971 yılında lise birinci sınıfta okurken, değerli kimya öğretmeni Ercan Çulhacı’ nın teşviki ile Adana Musiki Derneği’nde başladı. 1976 yılına kadar bu dernekte Adana’nın çok değerli hocaları ile çalışır. O tarihlerde  Adana ve Mersin’de amatör olarak sahne çalışmalarını sürdürür. 1977 yılında Ankara Orduevi’nde askerlik görevini bitirdikten sonra 1978 yılı sonunda Ankara Radyosu’nun açmış olduğu sınavı kazanıp profesyonel olarak sahnelere adımını atar. 1982 yılına kadar Ankara’da değişik yerlerde sahneye çıkar. Daha sonra Fahrettin Aslan beyden aldığı teklifi değerlendirerek İstanbul’da Maksim gazinosunda sahne sahneye çıkar.Bugüne kadar sekiz albüm çıkaran Faruk Tınaz, on bir sinema filmi, üç televizyon dizisinde oynadı
