Davut SULARİ 17 yaşında mana aleminde bade içen güçlü bir aşık. 45 yılı aşkın bir zaman aşıklık geleneğini sazıyla sözüyle başarıyla yürütmüş, adını yurt içinde ve yurt dışında duyurmuş bir aşık. Erzincan' ın Çayırlı ilçesinde 1926 yılında doğdu. Büyükannesinin çocuğu olmadığı için babası Veli çocuğunu nenesine vermiştir. Nüfus kaydı Rindi Hanım'ın üzerine yapılmıştır. Dedesi Kaltık Mehmet Ağa tasavvuf şairiydi. Dedesi genç Davut'a saz çalma şiir söyleme ve türkü yakma zevkini aşıladı. Aşıklık geleneğinin halk şiirinin her türünde başarılı örnekler vermiştir. Davut Sulari nin yaktığı türküler bugün dahi usta halk türküsü sanatçıları tarafından TV de ve kasetlerde okunmaktadır. Ankara ve İstanbul radyolarında 4 yıl  bölge sanatçısı olarak çalıştı. Davut Sulari 1955 yılından itibaren Konya'ya gelir özel şiirli türkülü programlar sunardı. Aşıklar bayramının Konya'da yapılmasında emeği geçmiştir. Usta aşık türkü atışma güzelleme dallarında büyük bir yetenek sahibiydi. Doğu Anadolu da asırlardan beri dilden dile anlatılan efsaneleri menkibeleri şiirleştirir sazıyla etkili bir makam ve deyişle dost meclislerinde sunardı. Bütün ömrünü aşıklık geleneğine sadık kalarak sürdürdü. Sulari yi sazından sazını Sulari den hiçbir zaman ayrı düşünmek mümkün değildi. 27 Aralık 1984 tarihinde Davut Sulari bir aşıklar meclisinde Erzurum'da yanık yanık türkü yakarken bu dünyadan göçtü.
