Abdullah Uyanık, 1947 yılında Şanlıurfa'da doğdu.  Genç yaşlarda müziğe ilgi duyan Uyanık, ''Şanlıurfa Müzik ve Makam Geleneği''ni en iyi bilen ve kendine has üslubuyla dikkat çeken bir sanatçı olarak biliniyordu.    Tenekeci Mahmut (Güzelgöz) gibi önemli gazelhanlar ve sıra gecelerinde sanatını icra eden Uyanık, Şanlıurfalı birçok sanatçıya plak yapmış, bir dönem Kazancı Bedih ile (Yoluk) de program gerçekleştirmişti.    Türk Sanat Müziği ve Türk Halk Müziği dallarında çok sayıda plak ve kaseti bulunan Uyanık, sıra gecesi ekipleriyle de ortak çalışmalar yapıyordu.    Uyanık, evli ve 5 çocuk babasıydı.
