29 Mart 1949 yılında İzmir’de doğan şarkıcı Türk Pop müziğinin en önemli isimlerinden biridir. 70’li yılların ikinci yarısında yaptığı bestelerle adını duyuran Kayahan (Açar), 80’li yıllarda pop müzikteki tıkanma karşısında dahi kalitesini düşürmeyerek başarılı çalışmalar yaptı. "Geceler" isimli çalışmasıyla 1986 yılında "Altın Portakal" ödülünü kazandı. 1990 yılında da "Gözlerinin Hapsindeyim" çalışmasıyla Eurovision Türkiye elemelerini birinciliğini alarak ülkemizi Eurovision’da temsil etti.  80’lerin sonlarında çocuklara yönelik şarkılar yapan Kayahan yaptıklarıyla Türk halkı’nın büyük beğenisini topladı.  1991 yılında piyasaya sürdüğü "Yemin Ettim" albümüyle yeni nesil gençliğinin de ilgisini çeken sanatçı, bu tarihten itibaren ard arda kaset çalışmaları yapmaya başladı.  1999 yılında vokalisti İpek Tüter ile hayatını birleştiren Kayahan 2000 yılında tekrardan baba olma zevkini tatmıştır.
